Eight of Spring Valley's finest Model UN students faced 98 other high schools this past weekend for the most prestigious and competitive Model UN conference in the western United States: The 62nd Annual Session of Berkeley Model UN (BMUN), held on the UC Berkeley Campus.
The three-day conference featured over 1,500 students in 20 committees debating a broad range of world affairs topics with our Spring Valley students representing Columbia and South Korea.
The competition was fierce, but our Grizzly MUNers had an outstanding debut:
Cindy Rivera and Aron Csiki won Research Awards
Mackenzie Leavitt and Samantha Wolk won Commendation Awards
and Tyler Teresi and Mereim Messaoudi won Best Delegate Awards
At the closing ceremonies, our school won "Best New School" for outstanding overall team performance. Special thanks to Matthew Mondschein and Katherine Reed for contributing to the team's big win!
