Spring Valley High School's award winning Model UN team visited Southern California over Memorial Day weekend to compete in the 22nd Annual UC Irvine Model United Nations Conference.
Our students represented France, South Korea, Jordan, and Haiti in eight UN committees which included over 600 other high school students from 25 high schools.
Cindy Rivera, Tyler Teresi, Meriem Messoudi, Cody Clarke, and Vijittra Puckdee each took home research awards for excellence in research and writing.
Cody Clarke, Meseret Ambachew, Isaiah Reyes, and Nathan Brantley earned Commendations for distinguished performance in their committees.
Meriem Messaoudi, Aron Csiki, and Matthew Mondschein earned "Outstanding Delegate" awards in their committees.
Lindsay Richey, representing France in the UN Environment Committee, won the gavel and was named "Best Delegate."
Capping off a winning season, our team of 31 students won a "Best Delegation" award in its class (for the second consecutive year at UCI) based on the highest overall number of individual awards earned.
Spring Valley High School Model UN would like to give special thanks to UC Irvine's MUN program for serving as our mentor university for the past three years and visiting Spring Valley annually to support our students as part of their Outreach Program.
